The Goose Bay Reclamation Corporation (GBRC) golf tournament, held on July 15th at
the LA Golf Course, was very successful! With the help of 48 golfers, sponsors, donors,
supporters and numerous volunteers and the staff at the golf course, we were able to raise
approximately $4,000. Golfers had fun golfing on a beautiful, hot summer day, enjoyed a
delicious lunch, and participated in raffles, a 50/50 drawing and silent auctions. Comprehensive
Weed Solutions was also on hand to display one of their harvesters, show demonstration
videos, and answer questions. Special thanks to Rick and Pam Andre for running the
tournament.
The GBRC board would like to thank the following sponsors: Dark Island Distillery,
Drew’s Excavating, Frost Masonry, G.L. Wills and Sons Paving, Garlock and Sons, Hutchinson’s
Boat Works, LA Quarry, Northeast Construction, Phelps Guide Rail, Inc., Premier Buildings
Associates, LLC, Proven Energy Systems, Putnam Construction, Royce Newberry

Yearly 50/50 Drawing and Ongoing Membership Drive
We are currently in the middle of our annual membership drive. If you would like to
become a member of Goose Bay Reclamation Corporation to support our continued efforts to
mitigate the Eurasian milfoil that contaminates the bay, please go to our website to download a
membership form or to sign up and pay online using Venmo or PayPal. Goose Bay is a premier
fishing and recreational waterway used by thousands of residents and visitors every year. To
maintain the pristine waters and beauty of the bay, we need everyone’s support. Membership
dues are one way to help.
Another way to help is our yearly 50/50 drawing. We will be distributing blue tickets to
our members and other supporters to sell. Please consider selling or buying the tickets – your
financial help makes a big difference! The drawing will be held on August 26th at our annual
meeting and potluck picnic (see below).
Upcoming Potluck Picnic for GBRC Members and Friends
On Saturday, August 26th, we will be holding our annual meeting and potluck picnic
starting at 11:00 AM at Krings Point State Park. We will eat at noon with GBRC providing the
hamburgs, hot dogs, rolls, condiments and paper products. Attendees should bring a dish to
pass and their own beverages. Outdoor games will be available – feel free to bring your own.
We are hoping to have speakers and displays to share information about the Eurasian milfoil
and other issues impacting not only Goose Bay but other area waterways. Comprehensive
Weed Solutions will also be on hand to show their harvester and share videos. The event will
wrap up at 2:00 PM. We hope to see all of our GBRC members and friends for this wonderful
opportunity for fun, socialization and community building!
